The third book is where I really got hooked on the series, and the same can be said this time around. The stakes are higher, the action really starts to take off, and I started to really feel invested in Harry's wellbeing. I also enjoyed learning more about past events and Harry's parents. And of course, the quidditch is so good in this one! I loved that it played a bigger role.
It's been said many times before, the writing isn't always fabulous, but the story is so entertaining. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is hands down my favourite thus far, bringing the storyline to a whole new level.

Sirius Black is one of my favorite characters in the entire franchise, so I really loved seeing him finally make an appearance. I love seeing Harry, who was so alone for so long, slowly, each year find his people and find those who truly love him. For so long after the loss of his parents, he was mistreated, and for him to finally get a taste of a real family, it is so gratifying. This novel also introduced my favorite magical item: the time turner. Not only is this item such a cool concept, and really entertaining to see play out, Hermione uses it to attend more classes, which is EXACTLY what I would want to do! This was the movie where I really fell in love for the series, and I am so elated that the book lived up to my expectations!
