This book is definitely the one where the series turns to be not as childfriendly.axel_p's review against another edition

As Harry, Ron and Hermione return to Hogwarts for their third year things are tense. Sirius Black has escaped from Azkaban. Enforcements have been called in to help guard the school. Everyone is on high alert. Cornelius Fudge believes Harry to be Sirius' target.

The third book is where I really got hooked on the series, and the same can be said this time around. The stakes are higher, the action really starts to take off, and I started to really feel invested in Harry's wellbeing. I also enjoyed learning more about past events and Harry's parents. And of course, the quidditch is so good in this one! I loved that it played a bigger role.
It's been said many times before, the writing isn't always fabulous, but the story is so entertaining. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is hands down my favourite thus far, bringing the storyline to a whole new level.

"The ones who love us never really leave us, you can always find them in here."
"The consequences of our actions are always so complicated, so diverse, that predicting the future is a very difficult business indeed."
