The content is important, since not all might be aware of what a lawless country Russia truly is. However, the author failed to engage me and I spent most of the book wishing it was over. The core message: don't do business in Russia and don't oppose the state or it will end badly for you. Putin's enemies end up dead in "accidents".
challenging informative tense slow-paced

Everybody needs to read this book. Now. Immediately. Do it.

There is not enough stars to rate this book! I truly wish that every person I know would read this. How fortunate we are to live in a country where our rights are preserved. The bravery and sheer determination of Bill Browder and all those people who worked with him is astonishing. Everyone of us should strive to condemn and seek justice with such determination. With so much global political uncertainty happening today this should be a lesson to all of us not to allow crimes against citizens of any nation to be rewarded or forgotten. #BillBrowder #civilrightsforrussia #trumpimmigrationfiasco

I enjoyed this book. At first it felt like the story of business, ambition and potential ethical dilemmas in Bill Browder's career, but the book takes a very interesting turn to focus on the consequences to Sergei Magnitsky and how the turn of events changed Browder's life and the life of many around him. I didn't expect the turn of events, and the sincere seek for redemption through human rights activism.

8.5/10. Recommend!

really wild story, but the naïveté of Browder starts to get old very quickly.

(why is it that goodreads always loses my most though-out reviews? anyway review coming AGAIN soon)

Can’t believe this actually happened!! Quick and easy read, but really draws you in.
