The first one of these I’ve actually enjoyed. I’ll try another.
Three things happened on May 5, the day everyone sang 'Happy Birthday' to Kinsey Millhone. The repairs were completed on her apartment, and she moved back in
One summer I read all of her books (probably 10-12 were published at the time), and G is for Gumshoe sticks out in my brain as being a great, suspenseful read.
When I pick up a Sue Grafton - Kinsey book I know I'm not going to be disappointed by it and these books have got me through some rough periods, times when I need something familiar to lose myself in. Like comfort food for the soul Sue Grafton always delivers that "Ahhhh" feeling and G is for Gumshoe did not disappoint.
Kinsey is an excellent lead character and completely believable in her role, the little bit of romance never feels over the top and always ends the way it should never taken too far or beyond the limits of believably.
All in all another excellent crime book, with a twist I didn't expect and a perpetrator I never saw coming.

Kinsey is hired to find a missing person and at the same time a contract is put out on her head. She "hires" a fellow investigator to protect her and together they solve an intriguing mystery. This is my favorite Grafton (of those I have read).
I thought this was one of the best plots in the series as of yet. The ending (epilogue) was very abrupt, and was only about a page long, if that. I feel that things needed more explaining, and that Grafton could have put much more effort into it. It was an entertaining read, however, and served its purpose of being light and silly, yet suspenseful.
This one was a big improvement over the last. Not much more to say than that…
This is the first book in this series where i felt like Kinsey made some dumb decisions. Maybe it was meant to be her stubborness, but I felt like having a hit taken out on her would get her on board with a body guard before pursuing a case. I liked her love interest in this book and the stakes were very high, but the two mystery narratives were a little crazy for me.
