This one was tough for me. I love Jessa Hastings’ style, but I didn’t enjoy most parts of this book. It felt like a copy-and-paste version of B.J. and Magnolia (from the Magnolia Parks series) but not as likable and with less chemistry. The insta-love felt rushed and unbelievable, and while I usually love messy drama, here it all felt forced.
I did love the premise-a musician and a model navigating love and fame in the '90s but I wish the execution had landed differently. If you're a fan of Jessa Hastings’ previous work, you might still enjoy this one.

I read Time of Your Life in 24 hours. That’s just what Jessa Hastings does to you — she writes in a way that’s completely all-consuming. I blinked, and I was 50% in, fully immersed in this world.
Set in 1995, the story follows Ysolde, a 20-year-old supermodel, and Joah, the magnetic frontman of a wildly popular band. Their relationship is a whirlwind — glamorous, chaotic, emotionally intense — but the book goes far beyond just romance. It’s a raw, glittering exploration of fame, ego, and what it means to love someone when you’re still learning what love is supposed to look like.
It dives into jealousy, identity, and the danger of having access to everything before you know who you really are. There’s so much tension in loving someone deeply but not knowing how to do it well — and how ego can cloud even the purest feelings.

Loved Ys, hated Joah. Excited to see where Jessa takes us though, she’s a genius and I trust her ever since I went from HATING Magnolia Parks to to being utterly obsessed.
