The second book in the Jaine Austen Mystery series.  This one deals with Jane getting a job as a guest writer for the TV show Muffy n' Me.  This time Jaine has to get her best friend Kandi off the hook for murdering Quinn Kirkland, an actor on the show, who she was seeing.  As it turns out Kandi wasn't the only woman Quinn was seeing.  As we learn, he was sleeping with Audrey, the head writer.  Bianca, Audrey's assistant.  Vanessa, the star of the show and maybe half of the women in the Greater Los Angeles area.  Jaine has her work cut out as she has to look into the cast who hated Quinn to find the killer.  This is another book that I couldn't put down as I needed to know what Jaine learns about each cast members motives into killing Quinn.  At the same time she has to deal with her crazy parents, her neighbor Lance, who gave her a script to give to Audrey, and a detective who also has a script for her.  This is another book in the series that I'm glad I reread.

I really enjoyed this light comedic cozy even more than the first in the series. Jaine is a really likable character. I like how she says what always has something snappy to say, even if only in her head! The crazy backdrop of the Hollywood scene is also really entertaining. I found this story less predictable than the first. I hope to find more cozies by this author. They are light enough to read here and there between toddler and newborn napping, but entertaining enough to keep me wanting to keep reading.

This was my first full-length Jaine Austen story (I've only read the short holidays stories before). I can't believe I waited so long to pick this up. I absolutely love Jaine and find myself cracking up constantly from her narration. This was such a cute and enjoyable read!

4.5 Stars <3 I loved the addition of the emails from Jaine's parents, they are such great characters and to me at least help explain Jaine's zaniness ~ I also really enjoyed all the early 2000s sitcom references in this book. I am having such a blast with this series, it's probably the only cozy that makes me literally laugh out loud!
