I loved this trilogy and this was a good ending. But because there were a lot of povs, I sometimes felt like we haven’t heard from some of them in like 100 pages.
Okoa’s death was expected, but I had lulled myself into a false sense of safety, so his death hit me hard.

I am sad this series is over, but oh my, what a rollercoaster of emotions. It's an epic fantasy series to rival any popular ones out there.

Xiala is single handedly the best female fantasy protagonist I have ever come across. I, too, would love to be a mermaid  goddess, queen 🧜🏿‍♀️👑🌊 leading a female only colony.

Rebecca Roanhoarse spins this fantastical tale of pre-Colombian Mesoamerican cultures and mythology with such skill that it took my breath away. Although it is clearly based in South America, the diversity of the characters was truly something that other fantasy authors should take note of. Rather than forced inclusivity, LGBTQ+ were written with such care and an easiness that I appreciated.

Love,  love ❤️  already excited for my re-read in two years 😂.

At the end of trilogy, and after waiting so long for the conclusion, I was expecting more.

Sadly this book meandered a bit too much and at times was so slow and meaningless and at times incredibly rushed like the author just wanted to finish it.

I appreciate a book of this size is an undertaking but this was just so inconsistent and messy, I zoned out a few times listening to the audiobook.

Nara’s character was just a complete waste of time but I loved Xiala’s character arc the most which is what saved the book for me.

If you have read the previous two books in this trilogy, all I can say is "they stuck the landing." The ending was inevitable and surprising, just the way such stories should be.

I hope Rebecca Roanhorse will return to this world someday. Not necessarily these characters, but I'd love to see other stories there.
