Crazy hypnotic, fell into this book each time I went to read a chapter. It showed up in my dreams. Very memorable.

This book was well-written, but I just don't see the awe. It definitely showed me a very sad story with a harsh dose of realism, but I can't say I enjoyed it. It wasn't nice to meet you, Scotty, don't come again.
DNF. The opening story is so compelling. The concept of the three narrators was intriguing. I just think I'm not emotionally where I can't sit and read this book right now.
Fascinating and interesting read.
Loved the author's use of interchanging narrators in each chapter. The anthropomorphization of an illegal drug was executed very, very well. Each narrator came with their own sets of emotions, their own voice, and their own insights.
The characters in the book were well rounded and well developed. Each one of them added something unique to the novel, which I appreciated.
The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is because the plot got a little choppy. The book started off in media res, but the jump to the beginning of the chain of events was choppy. As was the conclusion of the novel. Some fairly important developments happen without the appropriate level of context. The pacing of the end of the novel is artificially fast to match the rest of the book.

Wow. A difficult, painful, read. Excellent fiction about addiction and its many victims.
