Nina and Jake

I loved Jake Understood. It was great to be about to read not only what Jake was thinking/feeling from some of the scenes from the first book but to also read what became of them many years later. Nina was finally able to get some type of closure about Ivy and she proved that with giving her daughter Aria as a middle name. Beautiful story and a must read if you read Jake Undone.

Must read following Jake Undone

I am one of those people that has to know every little bit after a story ends. This answers your questions of what the check Jake was thinking in Undone and how life went from there.

I just love this whole world. I am really starting to like the hero a lot more as he starts to develop and progress throughout the series. The drama within the book just keeps me hooked and it makes me happy seeing previous characters from the other series.

I debated

I debated getting this book. I enjoyed Jake undone, and want sure that I wanted to basically reread the story. However, this is so much more than the original story. I'm glad I read it!

I loved reading Nina and Jakes story from Jakes POV. Jake is telling his friend their story, and he goes back to what happened in “Jake Undone” but telling it from his POV. So, any questions I had about Jake were definitely answered in Jake Understood. I loved that it was past/present, so even though Jake went into the past telling his side of the story, we still got more out of Jake and Nina’s story in the present.

I don’t want to ruin anything in the book, since not a lot of the story is present time. But, one part of the book (present time) was just amazing. Jake has grown so much into an amazing man. I loved seeing the secondary characters. Skylar and Mitch (love these two). I usually don’t like to read books that are the same story just in different POV’S, but Penelope executed it perfectly. Jake was speaking to a friend telling him about his relationship with Nina. It was just written perfectly.

I definitely recommend reading Jake Understood, if you have already read Jake Undone. Even though it is a standalone, you would probably enjoy the story more if you read Jake Undone first. Penelope you did it again. This story was amazing, I’m so happy I read it!!

DNF 14% What I read of the book was well done just like Jake Undone. Not sure why it didn't pull me in. It felt like I was rereading Undone without much new info (which is always a danger when doing his/her novels). However, I didn't give it a lot of opportunity having put the book down so quickly, but it just wasn't holding me.

I also have to say it could be because of the married issue. In Undone we don't know until so far into the relationship I just wanted to understand the whys, whereas here you know from the onset, which frankly made me uncomfortable even though I understood his reasoning.

Regardless don't let my DNF deter you. I'm a fan of this author and have read everything she's written aside from this one and strongly recommend her.

Worth the read!

I loved this book. I saw a lot of reviews that a lot of what happened in book is retold in this book, and while that is true, we are getting a lot of new character development for Jake, Ryan, Tarah, Skylar and Mitch, plus Nina & Ivy. This fills in a lot of the blanks from the last book that I couldn't understand. I enjoyed how this book also gave Jake's perspective on a lot of things. There are always two sides to every couples story and this brings it full circle. Totally worth the read if you loved book 1.

I really enjoyed getting more Jake and Nina. The past sections weren't as interesting to me, but this was way more than just a retelling of the same story. Jake and Nina have never had it easy and I feel like this story was needed to bring closure to a very messed up situation.

When i read jake undone, i remember i do not like the heroine. And i feel annoyed with how anxiety disorder being unfairly portrays.

Now in jake understood, the POV from jake is really touching me. I can see his character more clearly. He is such a funny, warm and gold heart type of person. How he sacrifice his future for ivy. How he determine to help nina.

I was so touch by him. When it gets into nina pov, i still feel annoyed by her. She is just a big mess. Immature and needy.

Despite my dislike of nina, i still give this book 4 stars. All because of jake. This man is super alpha male with a heart of saint.
