It’s been quite long since I read the first book, so I forgot a lot. Yet, the entire plot was still bloody obvious. I
Spoilercan’t believe that the fact that Rybet is the princess, Ophelia her mother and Sal her father was the big plot-twist at the end of the book.
This fact was obvious since the first second of book one, and it just kind of annoyed me now. I mean, the plot feels SO much like a YA novel? I’m glad she at least finally understands that they’re the princes pff. Besides the obvious plot, I liked it. The steaminess obviously isn’t YA at all, although Rybet is coming closer to the point of ‘only thinking about sex 24/7’, the point that I always hate. I think I need to take a break from reverse harems because they keep annoying me lately. I’m kind of glad that
SpoilerZan pushed her away at the end because it’s honestly not fair of her to force them to share her while they’re clearly not okay with that.
It’s realistic that people aren’t okay with sharing – Rybet seems to assume that everyone wants to fall down at her feet, but it’s obviously not normal to anyone else and I like that. I’m starting to like Zan – I definitely didn’t think I’d like him. I still like Lee and Ty, although I wish we could see some more of them – which isn’t sex that is because apparently that’s the extent of their character now. I like Zegan or whatever her name is – I’m listening to the audio so I don’t know how to write her name – she’s the one actual badass in this series so far, Rybet is starting to suck. There’s not a lot left behind of the badass she was in the last book, she now just blindly does stupid things – I mean,
Spoilerlet’s follow a creepy lady in the middle of the night!!!!
and I’m getting sick of her. Apparently,
Spoilershe also knows how to use her magic perfectly now while she has never used it before, yanking out the soul and all that. What the fuck.
It’s also really annoying that
Spoileronce again, Zan is the one who’s seemingly dead. I mean, yes, we had that in the last book already, can it not be someone else this time? Obviously, he’s not dead ugh.
I hate it when something like that is repeated, ngl.

I hope that the next book will explain some more about the world – some really cool concepts like the magic rain were introduced, and I’d LOVE to see more scenes like that! So cool. So yeah, I liked it at first, but some things in the plot annoyed me. Rybet is slowly edging into annoying as well – she doesn’t think at all and her whole personality is becoming focused on the guys’ sex. Hopefully the next book will have a bit more worldbuilding and an interesting plot!

I am honestly shocked at how much I have been enjoying this series. The gods are getting more involved which makes this series even more interesting. There have been clues that King Titus isn’t the mastermind behind everything and I’m not sure who is behind everything yet. Although the queen did say she couldn’t trust anyone. I’m glad the brothers aren’t alright with her liking all of them. It makes far more logical sense to me. It seems like this series should be more than three books long but maybe things will come together at a respectable pace. I can’t wait for the 3rd book.

Still such a fun story, very different then the first book since we are now out of the first trial and onto the second, which is a more adventurous type challenge. This one again ended in a cliffhanger hanger and now I'm torn between immediately starting the third book or reading another book that I just got that also had ended in a cliffhanger hanger # reader problems lol. I am interested to see how the romance plays out because I honestly have no idea what is going to happen with that jumbled mess.
