I loved this! Had me crying however I felt the last three chapters were rushed. The ending just kinda happened super fast.
Graphic: Ableism, Child abuse, Child death
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I appreciated the depth of characters and found it to be an enjoyable read.

Well call me a Tessa Dare convert after reading this book! I’ve seen many people praise Tessa’s books online and finally read this book after seeing it featured on a podcast (shoutout Heaving Bosoms!). This book does a great job balancing the world of Regency England with the humor and heat I love to see in a romance novel. You feel the whole range of human emotions reading this book. There’s even a reference to Pretty Woman (big mistake. HUGE.)!! You will fall in love with Pauline as she falls in love with Griff. His mother is a hoot and a half, and the rest of the supporting cast have such bright, shining moments.

I bought this book and then kept pushing it to the bottom of my to-read pile for months. I just wasn't excited about reading it for some reason. Now that I'm finished, I realize I had a pleasant little treasure sitting around waiting on me to open it. Loved everything about this book. The hero was humorous and strong, but grieving and nursing a broken heart. The heroine was making the best out of a crappy life and was determined to get her and her special-needs sister away from an abusive father. The clash of wills between NOT only the hero and heroine, but also the hero's mother is hilarious. I love how Griffin pretty much told the ton to go to hell and chose the woman he loved over social acceptance. Great read with lots of little mini subplots to keep things moving and exciting.
