I’d like to give this book a higher rating because I think the characters are interesting and have potential but the main characters don’t stop having sex long enough for very few plot points to feel fleshed out and I’m not a fan of the
unplanned pregnancy at the
ending. I like a lot about the concept but overall just think this book could have used more rounds of edits before making it to production.
Also, the Uber scene deserves jail time I honestly almost put this book down for good
. I picked this book up to take a mental break with lighter subjects and it was kind of fun but overall a little disappointing and overhyped.

I truly hate when a romance book ends in a pregnancy/marriage. I know this is a me problem and not a this book problem but I’m just so tired of happy endings meaning a woman gets pregnant. Also like she’s about to go to the Olympics like???

This book just wasn’t for me. I love a good romance but as someone that doesn’t drink and hates parties all the “weee I’m drunk” moments really didn’t work for me. Also my god the insta love is strong here and I kind of didn’t like it at all. Genuinely I think I’m too old for this book lol.
I’m glad so many people love this, wish it worked for me but it just didn’t.

This one started off strong for me. It had the makings of my fav type of romances: reverse grumpy/sunshine + hockey + he falls first, but it quickly spun out into smut over substance.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy a nice bit of spice, but I need a strong plot line and character development and both just missed the mark. The subplots were a bit too ambitious, never fully getting the attention they deserved. The characters were pretty cliche and very one dimensional, despite having the most groundwork laid for pretty complex backstories. I’d hoped to dig deeper into Nate’s relationship with his father and Anastasia’s mental health struggles, but we merely got surface level explanations at best.

A few trigger warnings: There was a LOT of glorification of disordered eating, a hefty bit of slut shaming, and a way too heavy dose of misogyny for my tastes.

This was such a cute book! I really enjoyed it! The spicy scenes were just enough to go within the story!

I was hesitant to read this book because of the mixed reviews, but boy am I glad I gave it a chance. I really enjoyed this book. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I found Anastasia to be annoying at times. While I found Anastasia annoying at times, Nathan is top tier boyfriend material. If you are on the fence, I say go for it and give this book a try. Then go read book #2 in this series. Hopefully Henry's book is #3.
