An interesting read with Josiah and Audrey who are the epitome of the grumpyxsunshine trope. I liked the small town feel but the mystery surrounding the stalker felt a little obvious with how hard one character was pushed for it and how often the actual stalker was mentioned in passing for him to be insignificant.

Josiah was stoic and stern but ultimately kind and protective. Audrey was kind, hopeful and optimistic, she was the opposite to Josiah but in a way that complimented him. I liked the progression of their relationship and how it erupted and began and how it ended. The epilogue and the last chapter were sweet and perfect for the two of them.

Very quick read but enjoyable. I figured out who the bad guy was and his connection to the FMC straight away, it was pretty obvious.

I always enjoy romantic suspense, so I was excited to find this book series on Kindle Unlimited. I loved the small town and its tricky squirrels. As usual, if there is a dog in the book, they always become my favorite character. I immediately fell in love with the characters and the setting. I didn’t see that final twist coming and the ending left me on edge, but I enjoyed every minute of it. I can’t wait to continue with this series.
