Perfect combo of romance and suspense with just the right amount of humor thrown in. This was my first Claire Kingsley book, and I really enjoyed it. I'm a sucker for a quiet, broody hero, so Josiah was right up my alley. I loved how devoted he was to Audrey after he finally gave into his feelings. Max was adorable too. Can’t wait to see what’s to come with this series.

Claire Kingsley does it again - combines the best in storytelling and wraps it up in a beautiful package filled with just the right amount of hope and love. The reader is taken back to Tilikum and is introduced to Josiah Haven, a broody flannel wearing lumberjack that has shut his heart down to any and all relationships. Entering into the story is Audrey, who swore she would never come back home but needs to regroup and start over. With every chapter the reader is taken on a journey filled with emotion, connection and angst while at the same time feel at home with some favorite characters and who can forget the squirrels. This was a masterpiece that we have all been eagerly anticipating and Ms. Kingsley did not disappoint - this deserves more than 5 stars!!

I really enjoyed this, it was such a sweet and easy read. The characters were great, it had witty banter, the small town vibe I love and an element of suspense which really added to the plot and had me invested.

Josiah is the ultimate grumpy lumberjack, he speaks in grunts and prefers to be alone so when he meets Audrey who’s her polar opposite, he’s surprised by the instant connection he feels with her. He had been burned in the past so was in denial, but I loved how open and honest he was once he gave in to his feelings. It was refreshing and I loved the natural progression of their relationship. He was sweet and protective, doing everything he could to ensure her safety.

I love how Claire interconnects the Bailey Brother’s series however you don’t have to have read it for it to come together. It was nice to see where Asher and Grace were now and I enjoyed the family dynamics. The banter between the Haven brothers was so fun and I’m looking forward to reading their stories!
