Obsession Falls was pretty good. Audrey and Max are a delight, and the bits we learned about Josiah were nice. I just wish we got a bit deeper with his story. We know everything that’s happened to him but really not the nitty gritty, in the feels stuff, you know?

I always liked the Havens so it’s nice to see them start settling down. I’m not sure I believe that it would take six years for a single one of them to do so but that’s what we’ve been dealt!

I’m intrigued to see what the dynamic is between Marigold and Luke in the next book, knowing full well that she and Zachary are harbouring secret feelings for each other. I’m guessing Luke is a friend but time will tell!

I though this was such a cute story. I thought the author did a really good job at setting up the scenes without having a lot of fluff. I thought the plot progression was good. I enjoyed it so much more that there wasn’t unnecessary back and forth and that the conflicts were dealt as a team.

I was intrigued by this series and even though I wanted more..the first book did not disappoint.
I gotta say, I had wished for more spice and suspense. I had the twist and plot figured out right in the beginning of the book..it made the read a bit predictable. How we the feels where there.
I miss the close-knit family ties we had with the Bailey brothers, but maybe the Havens need a bit more time. I most likely will continue with this, cause I am excited about Z and Mari.

Spice: 🌶️

Obsession Falls follows Audrey, who’s back in her small hometown after being laid off, and Josiah, who just wants to be left alone. Their first encounter is painfully awkward, but despite his efforts to keep his distance, the two keep getting pulled back together. Toss in a sleazy ex, a goofy dog, and some creepy messages, and you've got a light mystery wrapped in a small-town romance.

While this isn’t a groundbreaking story, I still found it enjoyable. The mystery was fairly easy to figure out, but I stayed interested just to see how it would all play out. Max, the lovable and derpy dog, added a great touch of humor and warmth. That said, Josiah definitely tested my patience—his lack of communication was painful at times. I get the whole "strong, silent type" thing, but wow, a conversation here or there wouldn’t have hurt. I also wish the story spent more time exploring their pasts; it could have deepened their connection and made their romance more believable.

All in all, this was a quick, entertaining read. A good choice if you're looking for a palate cleanser between heavier books.

What to expect:
✅ grumpy x sunshine
✅ small-town romance
✅ MCs in their 30s

This was by far one of my better reads for 2023. I took my time and fully digested this novel. I can’t wait for the other books in this series. Loved every word.

Am enjoyable quick read. Grumpy/ sunshine trope nicely done. Low spice level.
