Really well done - tackles a lot at a breezy pace (friendship, relationships, being new, feminism, period equity) with well-developed characters (even the parents!). The whole color scheme is red but I guess the author figured, if you're going to go for it, may as well really hit it hard.

What a charming book about high school friendships, getting your period, and equity.

After I finished this book, I needed to take a moment to think about what to write. This book is so, so important. As I have gotten older, moving out of my teen years, I have become much more... I guess not really comfortable with talking about it, but more blunt. Infuriated and righteous in my rage, I openly talk about my period to make it normal, to make people uncomfortable and ask them, what is so wrong with my talking about this? This book is so important for the young teens who are just getting their period, or the people who are period veterans, to know that this is an injustice to us, and that we deserve to talk openly about our bodies and get the things we need to keep us healthy. Even several minutes after finishing this, I still have chills. Thank you for writing this book. I hope this empowers menstruators and allies everywhere to fight for our rights. Because after reading this, I'm ready.
