Are the shades of Pemberley to be thus polluted?
(This is a biased review because I love P&P)
Also I read this book over 10 years ago for school, never picked it up again, consequently became OBSESSED with the 2005 film, and have only now re-picked up the book.
Lizzy is funnier. Darcy, my (probably) autistic king. Mrs. Bennett is Mrs. Bennett.
What a great time.

Darcy to Elizabeth:

I clearly understand why this book has become so popular again. It has its charm, although the ending was predictable from the beginning. I think it shows very well how people lived then and what were the standards of life. I admire Jane Austen for being able to write a book with so few long descriptions but still creating a perfect image in my head. I would give it 4.5 stars out of five, but since I can't do that here, I'll have to give it a 5.

For me, a total slog, and uninteresting throughout. It's great that people love this book, but the endless conversations about marriage and daughters trying to find a decent husband left me wondering why people still like it so much. It hardly felt timeless or relevant, unlike many other classics.
