This absolutely stuck the landing, and I’m having emotions of a kind I don’t often in hard sci fi. What a lovely amazing series.

Okay but like... tell me why I cried at the end of this 😭😭😭.
The author did an excellent job at crafting these characters. I was drawn to them from the beginning but they just kept getting better. Idris especially grew on me, as a weird little twitchy man. Solace, as well, had such an interesting and nuanced arc that I enjoyed. Their endings were very on point.
The plot was frustrating with how realistic it was - for a scifi space opera, the political machinations and petty grievances were too fucking real. The overall story was excellently paced, it moved forward so quickly but still gave the time and space necessary, while maintaining an aura of urgency relevant to the fucking end of humanity. The trilogy itself was excellently paced and the development of both the plot and characters was skillfully done.
I'm definitely reading more by this author though I will say, one that I probably want to physically read not just audio.
