Un final más que digno para una saga de space opera de las que ya no se hacen. Con altísimas apuestas y una plantilla de protagonistas atrapados en acontecimientos que les superan, alcanza todos las metas del género sin caer en el tópico y cerrando satisfactoriamente todas las lineas abiertas en los dos libros anteriores. Ciencia ficción confortable, tradicional pero actualizada a los gustos actuales que no pide demasiado esfuerzo y entretiene con maestría. No pido más. Agradezco cuando lo encuentro, pero no pido más.

Super interesting interplanetary/species politics and world building. And at the heart of it are some wonderfully drawn characters making really tough choices with limited resources. I loved seeing this found family fight to save the universe! Such a wonderful trilogy!
This is the final installment of the Final Architecture trilogy and it pretty much maintains the quality of world building and character development found through the work since the beginning. In fact, there has once of the best depictions of diverse [and at times enigmatic] alien cultures that I have ever encountered (along with the subsequent political drama between them). Here we rejoin Idris, Solace and company while they deal with suspicion, corruption, hubris and betrayal to solve the problem of the Architects permanently … with Idris fighting a one man crusade to reveal the “man behind the curtain” in order to avoid a xenocide. However, despite all of the great things in here, the story did suffer from a few pacing problems where parts of the story started to drag as it dived into details and character interactions that at times seem somewhat superfluous … and I would put it aside for a time before returning to it. I would probably enjoy it better as an audible. Still, trilogy as a whole was excellent and if well with the effort.

After 3 books, the 3rd just bogged down as far as pace. There's (spoilers) only so many times you can describe unspace, and the 3rd book goes overboard. I think you really could have made books 2&3 into book 2 and called it a wrap. Just too much repetitiveness for my taste.
I couldn't wait to finish this book not so much for the big reveal of who the baddies were behind the whole thing, but because if I had to read one more time how tormented Idris was, and the description of unspace, I would have suffered more than any int.
