This was pretty good, but not fantastic. There were far too many POVs to my liking as instead of making the world feel complex it kind of just felt fragmented and the plot felt g l a c i a l in pace, which wasn't great. I really enjoyed the new characters, Tes and Kosika. I would argue that the old characters needed to be put to rest. They had their time and most of their stories weren't interesting. Also Lila Bard is one hell of an annoying character to read (derogatory).

I enjoyed this, but I think that was because I enjoy Schwab’s writing. I don’t know that I was super invested in the story or the outcome. Perhaps my experience would have been different if I had read the previous series. My favorite sections were with Tes. I would definitely follow her story further.

Loved this book. The writing is gripping and the characters are complex and varied. However even though Lila was the main character in the original trilogy o really disliked her in this book-she was cruel, crass and overall just awful to everyone around her-and why is she keeping Kell at arms length after 7 years? I loved all the new characters and can’t wait for the next book to find out how the last threads tie together!
