DNF. This was 90% the history of a god, and 10% the story on the back of the book, narrated in second person. Just not my style of book.

It took me an embarrassingly long time to realize this was a hamlet remix, but loved the narration and mystery and politics

What if Hamlet was narrated by a rock? This book is your answer <3

To be more specific, this is a loose fantasy retelling of Hamlet narrated by a rock who happens to be a god. I recommend this novel to people who are interested in novels written in non-human point of views who can tolerate slow pacing and are okay with second person narration.

While half of this novel is told in first person, the other half is the rock talking to our protagonist in second person. The result is an unusually distant POV because, while the rock is aware of our protagonist's every action, it can only speculate to the protagonist's thoughts. So, if you're going to read this, you need to be okay with this narration style.

This book was very unique. I really enjoyed it. Books about gods like this really are very interesting to me. It felt like mixing Shigidi and the Ancillary books. Which both I liked :)
