This book is dealing with human trafficking, so if this is a trigger you should not read this book. C.J Box does an excellent job on dealing with this issue and though I placed most descriptions under graphic they probably could have been listed as moderate. It is very close between the two because you can get a clear picture of how twisted these men are without the imagery. There is no actual rapes or torture in the book, but vivid memories that clues you in if that helps at all. It is quite bothersome and disturbing, but on a scale of one to 10, 10 being the most utter disgust of graphic, I would place this book at a 5. I chose to read this book based of the TV show "Big Sky" and wanted to see if the book correlated with the show. It does, but way more graphic with alot of changes from the book and characters. I think C.J Box did a wonderful job on the topic, plot, and overall writing of this book.
