Felt extremely repetitive. I think they mentioned that Boom Slug and Snuggles could not be separated at least 4 times throughout the entire story. Like, WE GET IT.

“We brought company, I told her. All of it.”

"Evershore unfolds the compelling narrative of Jorgen, shedding light on how he navigates the aftermath of the Redawn, Spensa's notable absence, and the profound evolution of his character—both on a personal level and in his role as a flight leader. The story takes a captivating turn as we are introduced to Hesho's people and their charming planet, an encounter that adds a delightful layer to the broader narrative.

The battles within Evershore are masterfully executed, showcasing well-choreographed sequences that inject excitement into the narrative. However, there are moments when these engagements might blur together, a minor quibble against the backdrop of the overall gripping storyline.

For an optimal reading experience, I recommend diving into Evershore after delving into Cytonic but be sure to read it before reaching the epilogue of the latter book. This strategic sequencing ensures a seamless flow of events and a more immersive understanding of the interconnected stories within this captivating universe."

I love these little novellas so much! Although this is technically supplemental to the Skyward series, it adds so much to it. The alliances, the development of Jorgen, who I felt we never really got to see fully developed in the main books...mwah.

The ending was also really exciting with so much happening all at once. I really enjoy the cytonics in the series, they are so unique and unlike anything I've ever read.

I really do love me some Jorgen. He has come so far since the first book (I mean that's probably mostly due to the change in how Spensa sees him throughout the series). But even in this book, seeing him come more into his cytonic abilities and his leadership skills. I liked seeing more of the kitsen culture. I'm so excited to see how the 4th book comes together with these new allies (and hopefully all of Skyward flight back together). I only have to wait like another year.

Listened to this via audible and it was again one immensely enjoyable audiobook! Focaliser in this novella is Jorgen and it takes place during the time Spensa spends in the Nowhere. We learn how he ended up as Admiral and how he saved GranGran and Cobb from the Kitsen Planet. This is something I say a lot but I wish more scifi / fantasy books had proper therapy and psychological help because daaaamn Jorgen you need it. Apart from that: a very satisfying book, nice battles, LOTS OF SLUGS (It's raining slugs! Halleluja!), and lots of cool new Cytonic abilities. I am very much looking forward to the last novel!

Another good novella that adds depth to the universe and hype to the final book. Went through this book way too fast!
