Well, it wasn't fabulous. Though, as I've said before, none of her books are. It's the details of how the Blue Bloods are, and came to be that keep me coming back to read. And the fact that it's just a guilty pleasure.

Although, I have to say the little random things that come out of no where were more noticeable in this book than the past ones. It was amateur at some points. Although if you liked the ones before this, you won't be too disappointed.

It was an entertaining read as always with this saga. Schuyler is still a bit (or more accurately a lot of the time) useless throughout the book. Mimi still gets me on my nerves with her personality (even though she redeemed herself at the end). I liked the perspective of Allegra in this book, it gave a lot of context as to why she left Charles and how was her life before having Schuyler.
I still don't know how Schuyler came back after searching for Deming (as Deming freed herself like the badass queen she is) in the Bluebeard's castle in the underworld. They were in opposite directions and in no instance it narrates how Schuyler encountered with the group.
All in all, it was an entertaining book.

I started reading the Blue Bloods series when I was in high school. I love the unique take on the origins of vampirism that de la Cruz has given the series by recasting vampires as fallen angels.

However, I was disappointed by Lost in Time. It felt like we were circling, much like Mimi and Oliver in Limbo. Lost in Time presented us with new mysteries, without resolving the old, and very few answers.

I could forgive that since it is the second-to-last book in the series. What I can't forgive, and is literally driving me nuts as a reader in this already very complicated web of characters and story threads, is the way that de la Cruz continually pushes her spin-off series' into the limelight of a Blue Bloods book.

I was a bit lost when Lost in Time began, but it's because de la Cruz intentionally left the Blue Bloods readers out of the development of the Mimi-Oliver relationship. The introduction of Oliver as Mimi's conduit threw me off, and Mimi and Oliver's storyline is fully driven by events that have occurred outside of the Blue Bloods series, presumably in the spin-off Witches of East End series.

I wouldn't mind a little crossover cameo here and there, but the fact that one of Lost in Time's major plot points developed from events unseen in this series, really led me to question de la Cruz's integrity as a storyteller. I don't like feeling pushed into reading the spin-off series to find out what is going on in a series that I've been with for years, and its cast a negative shadow over the entire series for me.

Lost in Time is the sixth installment within the Blue Bloods series. In this, we are still following the same people we've been falling since day one. Even though I wasn't a huge fan of Jack or Mimi, these two have definitely grown on me. It's better now because they aren't making me cringe due to them no longer making out or whatever. Plus, I liked see Jack and Schuyler getting to hang out without worrying over Mimi.

Then there's the whole hell adventure to save Kingsley which was highly entertaining. I'm just hoping that I continue to like these two in the next book because it would be super annoying to flip flop back to hating them. Also hoping their little plan ends up working too. I have a feeling it will hit a few bumps along the way but these two have to have a plan - right?

In the end, I'm slightly excited to see how it all ends.
