This was such a sweet story! An author and a librarian, both socially awkward, enter a dating-for-research situationship. Ben and Mari are so sweet together. I was impressed with the authors's use of omnipresent narration as it is not easy to do.
I loved how the characters gained confidence with each other and the refreshing premise of two people who are well into adulthood and have romantic experiences, but are still learning.

Happy release day!!
This was such a fun read!
We follow romance author who hooks a quirky librarian into “romance book research” with fake dating/friends to lovers all wrapped up in a spicy beach read? Sold! This was such a sweet (and steamy) read! Mari and Ben are such lovable goofballs who I laughed with, swooned with, cringed with and fell in love with!
I absolutely loved Romancing the Pages and cannot wait to see what K. Iwancio comes up with next!
Thank you so much to K. Iwancio for the advanced copy!

Happy publication day ❤️
Synopsis:
Mari Quail is a best selling author. She can write anything. Just not that what her fans are demanding. Love. Romance.
Mari struggles with a writers block. How can she write what she has never experienced?
While being in the shores of Avalon, NJ, working in the bakery of her best friend, she might have found what she hasn’t been looking for. Librarian Ben, who is as romantically awkward as Mari. Together they face the dating world, being each others support and test subjects. At the end of the summer, will she have found a muse for her next book?
My opinion:
With about 208 pages, this was a quick and fun summer read! So if you’re looking for something cute and fun to read on the beach, you can stop your search now.
While at times I had my struggles with Mari, I found Ben incredibly charming and heartwarming. These two were so totally awkward at first that it was funny and adorable.
It’s an easy to follow novel and easy to read and get into. I liked that the author explored the “dark” side of writing and publishing. The pressure of satisfying your friends but also staying true to yourself. That was really well one. I also liked their fake dates and awkwardness at first. It was sweet to see when the feelings changed.
This is what you expect out of a romance. Whilst this is not my go to genre, I enjoyed this a lot, a breath of fresh air!
