This was absolute perfection and is my #1 in the Windy City Series.
As a sucker for childhood friends to lovers, second chance, and miscommunication done well- this book had me feeling all the things I want in a romance and more. Watching Hal and Rio connect again and learn that while they are different people than they were years ago, they are still the person that knows the other person best, was so rewarding (and emotional).
This series has been amazing at blending romance and found family, I can't wait to see where the spin off series takes us!

My sweet baby Rio must be protected at all costs
Im so fucking sad that its over. Cried through the whole epilogue. This was my favorite one of the series. I love them all so much. I know Monty is getting a book but with the base series being over, I' sad. Also wondering if Cruz and his family will be a spin off series? Seemed like she's setting up for that.

Liz Tomforde has a way of writing that makes you feel nostalgic about falling in love. Her books are full of men who show their love through acts of service instead of just words.
They say to be truly known is to be seen, and Rio knows Hallie. He listened to her dreams and kept them in his slightly wonky shaped heart for when the time came to heal.
I loved how organically their childhood love developed. Hallie and Rio were inevitable. Unfortunately, due to an event that neither of them were responsible for, they were split apart for 6 years. Revealing the truths of their past broke down the final walls to reveal the love that had always been there.
I loved the cameos of the other 4 couples in the series, and the set up for a spin off with Wren and her brothers.

The story really dragged on for me and I didn’t enjoy the bouncing between what happened years ago back to present day.
