Death has always been a favourite character of mine in any media, and Death in Discworld is one I especially enjoy. I love how he is so human and so alien all at once!
I enjoyed this one a lot more than Colours of magic, and the siliness had me giggle, smile and occasionally snort, even in a rather harrowing time in my life.
So I can only say a very late thank youto Sir Terry Pratchett for still brightening so many lifes even today.

I love Death. He's one of my favourite characters, and Mort is one of my favourite of the Discworld books I've read. This is the first in this read-through that has made me laugh out loud on multiple occasions.
I love Rincewind's little cameo, the ridiculousness of Mort's fraught adventure interspersed with Death's attempts at being human, and the huge heart at the centre of the story.

My issue with Mort is the same issue I have with many other forms of media: I just don't want to read about annoying hormonal teenage boys and I don't want them to "get the girl" at the end. Sorry Sir Pratchett but Mort pissed me off. If this whole book had been about Death hanging out with cats and trying out human jobs it would be 5 stars easy
