Sara Fields finally took the plunge into the Omegaverse, and I couldn't be happier about it. She didn't just stick her toe in to test the water; she did a cannonball dive and got everyone wet. This is one of those stories that suck you in from the beginning and leave you with a book hangover when you finish. There aren't a lot of RH in the Omegaverse, but Ms. Fields made it work beautifully. The sexiness level in this one is burning hot, but the relationships between all the characters aren't lacking either. It is a perfect blend of interesting story, power exchange, passion, and Omegaverse heat. I can't wait to see where this one goes.

I've never read anything like this before, but it was recommended to me by a friend so I gave it a whirl. It's not my cuppa. Rough sex is one thing, but I just can/will never appreciate women being treated like idiot children with no rights or autonomy unless it's just a bedroom/fetish thing. When they told her she could never go home and then beat her to "teach her to obey her alpha" I was done. That's just gross, and I will never comprehend how women fetishize this kind of Handmaid's Tale life.

I enjoyed this overall. It was super spicy, very well written and had an interesting futuristic twist on the omegaverse. I wasn’t super into the punishment and public humiliation elements and I wasn’t totally sold on Raven just submitting to her alphas, considering she was previously a strong, independent scientist. But I guess that was important for the D/s part of the whole story.

I did feel like there was plenty of plot to play with and room to fully develop the characters, so I was disappointed in how short it was.

I’m going to start the second book, but I’m not sure how it will go. After what Triss did, I’m not that inclined to want to give her an HEA. But, we’ll see how it goes.

Frenzy by Sara Fields is a dark reverse harem romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Sarah Puckett and Sebastian Reynolds.

I absolutely love Sara’s books! This is the fourth books of hers I have read it definitely won’t be my last. She always leaves me wanting more. I really enjoyed getting multiple characters points of view throughout the story.

Sarah and Sebastian did an amazing job on the narration! They are an amazing duo and hope to find them working together again in the future. They really helped bring the story to life.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes Dark Romances, Paranormal Romance, Alpha Males, or Reverse Harems.

I’m a huge Omegaverse fan, but this book was not for me. I found the story idea interesting but the execution fell flat for me. There was a complete lack of consent from Raven in all aspects of her relationship and what happens to her, I can enjoy a non con  or dub con book, but this did not do it for me. The narration from Sarah Puckett was consistent and I enjoyed it. The male narrator, narrating 3 different character POVs while each had a distinctive voice, one came off extremely angry and the other two were choppy and the dialogue and monologue sounded awkward and uncomfortable. Overall I don’t think this was the book for me.

Great smut at the expense of character development

This book is hot. Truly delicious scene writing at every turn, but the characters were flat, rushed and the most we got from them was ‘I’m Alpha you don’t talk, I protect’ which is fine but without anything else deepening the relationship can come across kind of abusive? I get insta-love tropes etc, but even insta-love needs some context to feel like a full story.

The story line has such great potential and I loved the twists. I wish there was more exploration on how they fit together outside of a heat or immediate conflict.

Yeah.

I can see why everyone’s rating this the way they are.

Got to about 50%. DNF.
