My mom recently cleaned out the house and found a bunch of books from when we were little. Of course she gave them all to me. They certainly bring back memories of reading them over and over and over again. 30 years later and I still remember these stories. The books themselves may be a little worse for wear but the stories are still wonderful.
I love this story and it has a great message about neighbors and sharing what you have. One of my favorites.

What a delightful way to remind us of small acts of kindness that change the world in so many ways. This story prompted discussions throughout; poor, turnip, knitting, and best of all giving. Let's all have Socks for Supper!
Jack Kent stories are adorable and satisfying. Hope the are published again for another generation.
