I’m truly bummed the inevitable path this book took and how I didn’t find out until 424 pages in. I also could not stand Olivia’s/or her voice’s chapters most of the time, but found out that those were Jodi Picoult’s chapters- so maybe I just don’t like that author’s voice? I did however love Lily and reading her story. I look forward to reading more by Jennifer Finney Boylan. Beautiful acknowledgments and dedications.

I would have rated this higher because I love the education and perspective it delivers. However, I was not a fan of the ending.

This book started a little slow, and some bits remained that way, but I really enjoyed the duel timeline (moving backwards and forwards) and the two points of view. Lilly's perspective was much more insightful and fun to read, as I did tend to find Olivia overbearing and distasteful at times.

The ending was very anti-climactic which was a huge let down from the exposition.

Loved this book. Not usually a huge Jodi fan but between this and Small Great Things… I may have to change my tune…

Beautifully written. Typically not a fan of books co-authored but the effort that Jodi & Jennifer put to make their chapters indistinguishable was clear. The characters are wonderfully complex and I struggled to decide if I trusted them, supported them yet in the end came up loving them.
