4.5 rounded up to 5. And I need a light read after this.
This was raw and brutally honest and hard and beautiful. It may take me a while to get over certain parts of it including the last several chapters. But I loved it. This one will stay with me a long time.

Overall really liked this book; it had everything I look for in historical fiction. Minus .25 points because the ending felt too rushed after such a great buildup

Fans of Kate Morton will enjoy Natasha Lester's books just as much. Two equally talented Australian writers. Also really great historical fiction with twisty family secrets and dual timelines.

Oh my goodness gracious!!!! Such a great way to start my Fall Break reading. I loved the characters from the get go. Jessica May is a wonderfully strong willed woman of WW2. Dan is such an amazing co-character. An all together spectacular read that left me searching for tissues. I could have done without the “love” scenes in description, but I get it. So Good!!!

I loved Lester’s The Riviera House (5⭐️) and The Paris Secret (4⭐️) but I wasn’t a fan of this one at all. The romance side of things felt like a soap opera where everything that could go wrong did. By the end I was just rolling my eyes so hard it hurt

This is a book, that once finished, makes you want to immediately devour all books by the author. The story is heartbreaking on so many levels, but absolutely heartwarming on so many others. A definite must read.

This book. Unforgettable. Beautifully written. I’ll probably cry over this book for weeks!
