Woah.

i'm feeling a lot of things right now and i don't know how to comprehend any of my emotions. holy shit

I’m not sure what to say about this book. It was heart wrenching and disturbing on many levels. When it was over, I was left speechless and more than a little depressed. However, the emotions were raw and the writing was impeccable. A story that I won’t soon forget.

This book reads like a Black Mirror episode. It showcases beautiful how brutal society and the government could become when advanced technology is available for testing human subjects. To gain the perfect citizen, there is no taking in consideration how much trauma is implicated onto the test subject, they do not care about the consequences and the reactions in the end just somewhat disturbed me.

It feels like something really real, like it could have taken place in a few years, which makes me sad and disgusted. So I guess, job well done 😂

I didn't realize when I started reading this today that it was a short story... =)

And a great one, to boot. Very thought provoking and downright chilling. Sometimes I think near-future dystopia might be the most frightening genre, because it seems so close our current reality.

There was a twist I was expecting that never happened, but that didn't take away from my enjoyment any. In fact, my idea would've made it impossible for the author to end the story in the emotionally powerful way that he did.

Thumbs up again, Mr. Neuvel!

I loved this book and would totally give it five stars, but I felt it was too short. It felt like only one part of an actual book. The Test covers, well, without giving anything away, the administration of a test, which is really well done and was exciting. But, I felt the author could have done some lead up to the test administration, and then some "life after the test", which he did in just a couple of pages. This had more the feel of a short story than a full book, and I read it in one sitting in an afternoon. So, it is a great psychological thriller read, especially if you are short on time, like a day at the airport or on trains. Quickly absorbing and leaves you wanting more, but doesn't take up a huge amount of time to read.
