I didn't know when I started Chase's Wonderland series that I would end up reading her entire oeuvre. I have to admit, I'm not near the end of it yet, since this is only the second series I read, but the more I read from her, the more I know that I won't regret reading any of her books. It's a weird feeling for me, but during this book I was so invested that I nearly wanted to grab book 8 to check the last few lines.
And that means something. It means that I've grown to care about these characters. I care about their happiness. I care about their happy ending and where at first I was kinda wondering how this harem was gonna happen after everything that had happened in the first book, I'm now totally seeing and shipping it. I have no idea how it's gonna be possible, there are quite a few issues to be solved, but I do hope that Rory and her guys get each other. They deserve that. Yes, all of them. Including Malcolm.
What I love is that with every book we get to see more and more from the fearmancer world. We see how they raise their children, what morals they live by, how they construct their schools and systems, how they deal with unknowing humans. But, where Rory at first was talking very positively about the joymancer world, we're also seeing the dark sides of that world. I would love to see more of the joymancer world directly, but I'm not sure if that's what's gonna happen in this series. I'll have to wait and see.
However, the plot gets more and more interesting. I love the scheming and the politics, how the big game is being played and how the characters constantly have to outsmart everyone. The structure of having a relatively smaller arc, that ends within the book, combined with the big arc that spans over the entire series works really well. At the end of the book there is some sort of closure, although there's also always this amazing cliffhanger to make sure you come back.
And come back I will. I'm already looking forward to next week!

There are still so many books left and I want to know what happens! I couldn’t put these books down but the RH factor is very a part of this 4th book and I’m not I into non-monogamous relationships.
