Still having fun with this series, though this volume felt a little filler-ish. Rory experiences the fearmancer justice system after she was framed for murrrrder most foul! Harem is gelling, with some 'I love yous' and Malcolm has finally gotten his head out of his butt. Halfway mark, I'm still sticking with the ride.

We stumble into this 4th novel from summer session to falling on a bed of nails! Life for Rory can't find a balance since she joined the villain academy. She has numerous enemies circling her like vultures, plus navigating the politics and power of this ever-irritating Fearmance world! This new semester isn't going to get easier for her, either. Her opponents are trying to frame her for a heinous crime right after her momentous win in the summer session project! She has to decide who she can count on, and some of the scions are with her but will they all support her when she reveals her suspicions of the actual perps? Rory is determined to stand her ground and show that she will not be pushed into a corner by anyone!
I've truly enjoyed the author's world creation and the steamy bits are delectable!! I would definitely give it 3.5 chili peppers minimum! Who doesn't enjoy a strong and persistent heroine who can fight her own fights, but can still ask for help from others? Take a moment and read this series if you have yet to do so! It goes by soo fast! I'm looking forward to reading the next novel!

After the cliffhanger of the third book, I knew that with Rory being framed for murder, this installment should be rather interesting. And it was. While Rory now has all of the other scions on her side, she's starting to realize that the people against her won't roll over quite as easily.
I liked that we got more of all of the scions working together in this one. While Malcolm is the last to come around, I am enjoying their journey more than with the other boys. I think it's the whole enemies to lovers thing. I just love that trope. Also, Malcolm seems to be the only boy with spunk and he's just interesting. But now that he's coming into the fold more I look forward to the group scenes. I do like their friendship and I think that it needs to be showcased more.
Still don't trust the rat and I also really don't trust Rory's mothers best friend. Something is majorly up with her but based on the way this book ended, I think we may get a lot more with her coming up.

Still killing it!!
Rory is faced with the unthinkable. What will happen when she has to lean on the guys who once made her life terrible?
I just can’t quit!! I adore and love this series so much. I especially loved this one because of the characters coming together for one another. In the previous book, they all were against her and then against one another. This one we finally got to see the majority of them come together. I was kind of disappointed with the lack of Malcolm in this story, but it didn’t change the way I loved the story!
Rory is still this superior character. She is still dodging punches left and right. This time she’s up against the whole baron. She has to find her way to prove her innocence. Even though she has every reason to give up, she doesn’t. She still fights for the human population and she still fights for herself. She is just an amazing main character.
The men in this series step it up in this book. The way they allow each other to have time with Rory is amazing. Even when they start to support one another with or without Rory is perfection. I think we’ve seen them all grovel and now I’m just ready for Malcolm to be more involved. I usually pick a favorite but honestly, I can’t. I cannot wait to see what’s to come.
Like I’ve said in every review in the previous books in this series. Go read them!!! I usually get turned off by big series but I cannot put this one down. I'm halfway through and I can’t even imagine when they end. The author has done a fantastic job of keeping me invested and making me fall in love with the characters. On to the next one!!
