Ok, this was a feel good read that left me with a smile after I finished the last page. It's cute, entertaining and very much a feel good read, even if it stretches credibility at times. It's a LGBT romance at heart, but it interweaves friendship, family and social issues into a wonderfully crafted novel that both immerses and provokes thought. It's definitely fluffy at points, but it balances the fluff well.

I enjoyed the clever way the Royal family were tweaked, with nearly every individual having a Royal name but being in the wrong generation/place. I enjoyed the political side swipes and catty comments. I appreciated the way the families were depicted in a realistic manner, flaws and all. And I found the relationship between Henry and Alex entertaining and sweet; and from a complete non-romantic, that's high praise.

All in all, a sweet yet entertaining novel that kept me engaged throughout.

i watched the movie prior to reading the book, and halfway through the book i said “i don’t know i even watch movies— books are superior in every way!!”  i am absolutely obsessed with this book, and it has secured casey mcquiston as one of my favorite authors. this book was a lot darker and much more challenging than the movie. it has the depth and emotion that the movie lacked. this ultimately made the resolution far more satisfying! i cannot count the number of times i was almost driven to tears by the sheer beauty and hope and queer community that this book captures. love love love!!

A sweet love story between two characters with amazing chemistry. I didn't love reading the political parts, even if it was fiction, but they were integral to the worlds of the characters. I would honestly love a sequel.
