It’s a gripping story, and it’s satisfying once Alex stops being dumb, because that was annoying. It doesn’t really make a lit of sense, just one of those books I like for shits and giggles, great humour!

Not only were the characters in this extremely unique and memorable, but each conflict was tense and well-rounded. I never felt like there was a lose end to be tied up, or one that was forgotten. My only gripe, which is very minimal, is how fast Alex and Henry seem to fall in love. I know Alex realizes he's always had feelings for Henry and his pursual of their relationship is due to his tendencies to chase after things and dive in headfirst, and Henry was tired of being enclosed in England and took what was given to him when it was presented, but having (nearly) the whole relationship form in the span of one year seemed so, not unbelievable, because I wholeheartedly believed it, but too good to be true. Granted, this whole book's universe seemed much too good to be true [God I wish this was real for the years 2016-2020].

I originally had this at a 4.75 rating because while I enjoyed it, I didn't become attached to it. But from a story standpoint, I have nothing to be upset with. This book was great. I loved it. Fuck it, 5 stars.

So freaking good! Such a cute love story and my first ever New Adult Romance. I would recommend to anyone non-homophobic.

I know there are a lot of mixed reviews, and this is just added. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and how they grow throughout the book.

“Henry’s willingness to dance is directly proportional to his proximity to Alex’s hands.”

This book had my heart from the very beginning. I love it so much, I can’t believe it took so long for me to read it.

Not only is the romantic relationship between Alex and Henry absolutely beautifully written, but the relationships between all of the other characters are also so compelling. June and Nora are such wonderful friends to Alex, Bea and Pez are great friends to Henry, and everyone has their own challenges and highs and lows.

The politics, the romance, the friendship, and the character development all add up to a stellar book. Five stars.

***ADDED FROM 2023 REREAD***
I have no notes. I love this book. I’m so glad I reread it, and I can’t wait to watch the movie. 5 stars yet again.
