bighearted and bombastic, truly a joy from start to finish! With a cast of characters that are so believably naïve, sincere, deeply flawed, relentlessly misunderstood and so so easy to root for. The prose are stunning, the humor is razor-sharp and never once felt like it was punching down.

McQuiston invites us into the turbulent world of Henry and Alex, who quite possibly two of the best rom-com leads in recent memory, sharing an unbelievable chemistry that just leapt off of the page and into my heart, never to be forgotten. What else is there to except, this was just great, and I can't recommend it enough...

Ganska klassisk romcom, rolig.
Lite för lyckligt och orealistiskt slut för min del

I liked this book a lot. It was previously a DNF read for me, but I’m so glad I gave it another chance. It’s funny, compelling, and romantic. It was a fun read and had great dynamics and representation.

After the last book I low key hated I kinda needed something to fix my reading mood so I grabbed this (lol reading this while the coronation of a new british king was happening was lowkey funny). It's lighthearted fun. I don't feel i will be obsessed with it like the others. Will not think it to be top 10 best lgbt books or anything. The comparisons to Young Royals now feel a bit insulting to young royals since I feel like they've been handling the topic better. Like it's clearly a book that's written in reaction to 2016 election. If it was straight I would call it trashy romance book but of course because it's gay that's a level that elevates it.  I enjoyed it a lot but just don't consider it some great quality of writing.
In any case it did it's job. It did what it was supposed to do

im not 100% sure if this book is MARKETED as young adult but it is marked as ya in the good reads genres, but i wouldnt really say its ya. id say its tittering on the line of ya and adult romance.
alex literally falls in love (or realizes) with henry through having sex with him, im not sure if thats a common thing or not (im on the aroace AND autism spectrum so it could 100% be common i just dont know LMAO)

for a fair warning, this book is about 40% sex and 60% politics

What happens when confrontational tabloid photos of America’s First Son and England’s second Prince of Wales threaten relations between the two countries? Why, their handlers force them into a staged friendship! But in between official events, Alex Claremont-Diaz and Prince Henry start to become friends, and maybe even something more...
