You know it’s an amazing book when you’ve already seen the movie (multiple times) and know everything that’s going to happen, but still somehow can’t put it down and need to find out what’s on the next page. Reading these books has been a bucket list item for a while and after reading this first one, I see why the entire country was obsessed with turning this into a transmedia franchise. I loved reading it from Katniss’ perspective which is something you don’t get in the movie. 5 stars for sure and I can’t wait to start book two!

3,5 ⭐️ It’s not perfect, has some dumb moments but its easy and fun to read. I finished it in a day and will continue the series so that says something ig

Nothing life changing here, but still really enjoyable. Burned through all three in about two weeks.

And just like that, the audiobook made it even better.

Read them all at once
I watched the first movie and thought they ruined it with the dogs at the end. Suffice it to say, the movies can't do the books justice, which is most often the case. There is so much more depth to the story than can be portrayed on screen, and there's so much you forget from one film to the next. Do yourself a favor, and read the whole series start to finish.

I’m saying it. YA is my favorite genre. I couldn’t put the first book down and while the others were slower, I still read them VERY quickly. I can literally read it any chance I got.

The plot reminded me of Koushum Takami's Battle Royale book and for that same reason I decided to read it.
It didn't disappoint me!
