Le livre est très court donc 22€ ça me fait très mal mdrrr
Le début était plutôt long et pas ce à quoi je m'attendais donc j'ai pas forcément accroché même s'il y a un côté drôle et décalé plutôt cool
J'adore les réécritures de contes

, et franchement, une belle au bois dormant féministe et lesbienne, que demande le peuple😎

C'est un roman vraiment léger, qui se lit super rapidement et je suis vraiment contente qu'on puisse évoquer dedans la question des droits LGBT, ou du féminisme
Je reste un peu sur ma faim à la fin du premier tome et j'espère qu'on retrouvera quand même Zinnia dans le tome 2 "Éclats miroitants", dans une saga de réécriture de contes un peu comme pour les chroniques lunaires
En tout cas j'ai hâte de découvrir le tome 2

First off, I don't care for books that use a lot of swear words and this book uses quite a few.  That being said, it was definitely a creative take on the story and there was something about it that kept me engaged to the end. Despite this, I did not find any of the characters relatable and I felt the author took the feminist direction of the story a bit too far.  Overall, this book was not my cup of tea. But if you are into Sapphic fairytales with a lot of girl power and you don't mind minimal character development, you will most likely enjoy the book.

Most applicable content warnings exist within a fairy tale context. Many are mentioned, and although not described in detail, are either mentioned or heavily implied and are ever-present throughout the story. The protagonist is chronically and terminally ill, and her main character arc revolves around aspects of this. Because of her illness, she is also infertile, though this does not particularly bother her.

It opens by saying in the first few pages: 

“Sleeping Beauty is pretty much the worst fairy tale, any way you slice it. It’s aimless and amoral and chauvinist as shit. It’s the fairy tale that feminist scholars cite when they want to talk about women’s passivity in historical narratives. Even among the other nerds who majored in folklore, Sleeping Beauty is nobody’s favorite. Romantic girls like Beauty and the Beast; vanilla girls like Cinderella; goth girls like Snow White. Only dying girls like Sleeping Beauty.”

The MC is dying of an illness which apparently no one survives past age 22, she's 21 when the book opens.  Her main personality traits are that she's dying, she has a best friend, and she seems simultaneously fascinated and repulsed by Sleeping Beauty as a story.

She oscillates between obsessively talking about how Sleeping Beauty is a garbage fairy tale and how she's dying just like sleeping beauty. It feels like someone turned their rant about how they hate this story into a retelling of it, but forgot to take the literal text of the rant out of the story. Huge sections of it are the MC talking about the flaws in the fairy tale. I wanted something that took the material and transformed it by rearranging it somehow, something that used the critiques to make the author's idea of a different/better story. Instead this book feels like a hate-write of the fairy tale, and I'm not invested enough to finish what would be a hate-read by the end, so I'm stopping.

I really enjoyed this! It was a cool spin (pun intended) on the classic fairytale. And I liked that it has rep in it! 
Heads up that there is an HP reference and I am still REELING at the stark opinion on P&P adaptations - mini series is superior, FIGHT ME.
