Exciting reboot of a classic series. Bendis is a great writer; the new Avangers lineup (Cap, Iron Man, Spider Woman, Spider Man, Luke Cage, Sentry, Wolverine) is unexpected and fun.

I love Bendis! He does a great job coming up with an origin tale for this New Avengers team.

Started weak but the art was great from start to finish. Plot is interesting enough and ends with a big enough hook for me to think about reading the next volume.

Meio desapontado.

I'm not in love with the fact that every female in this is either the enemy or a spy for unknown entities (except for the brief appearance of a pregnant Jessica Jones). In fact, I don't like how the female characters were portrayed at all. Why was Spider-woman's body the only one commented on?

I liked this a lot better when I read it for the second time. Still not that impressed by the art, but I've either gotten used to BMB's writing or it's just that at this point I've come to like the characters so much that I just like the book better too? In any case, this was fun.

The Avengers reform because of "fate". Or because Steve was lonely and missed being on a team with Tony. Either way, the Avengers, well, assemble.

I really enjoyed the New Avengers. To be honest, I really wasn't sure if I'd like it since it sounded as though it might get so meta that I would have absolutely no idea what was going on, who anyone was talking about, or what events were being referenced.

Because my lack of knowledge was something of a concern, I picked up a picture book from the superhero display in my library's children's department called "The Avengers: The World's Mightiest Super Hero Team." (No, seriously, I did. Thanks, DK!) Actually, it was pretty great. Each page gave a little bit of information about the team, it's history, and the chronology of the Avengers' story. It was actually all I needed to make sense of where "Breakout" picks up, though were I recommending it to anyone else, I might suggest reading "Avengers: Disassembled" first.
