Grumpy Sunshine
Welp this book showed a side of the Varool that was not so pretty: being mistrustful of someone who was one of them but didn’t look the same. I appreciated the deviation from the strict “aliens are superior to humans” propoganda.
Mari was an over the top gregarious ball of sunshine and her man was surly AF and defensive. They were a good fit.
Looking forward to the next book!

Mari (h), a human fighter pilot, is sent on a special mission with Var (H), a Varax fighter pilot. Mari is unaware that Var is Varax not Varool and that he's looked down upon by them as being less than they are culturally. The two will be in forced closed proximity in his spacecraft making it hard for Var to ignore that Maris is his fated mate. Really great worldbuilding and a lot of action and adventure as the pair battle the Folri enemy, make new friends and explore their relationship with one another.

Mari and Var
This book is so good. I love Mari's upbeat attitude. Var is so sweet and gentle with her. The prejudice against him made me so mad! I was disappointed in the Varool. Happy ending though

Wow, I absolutely loved this series but this story is by far the hottest most intense read of them all. I can't wait for the next story!

I think I now love grumpy sunshine the most, because I love this book! Mari is fearless and poor Var is so wounded you just want to give him a hug. [And then hope things get steamy.] That primal chase was hot AF! The woman did important stuff and was awesome, and the plot was nail biting.
