The Fallen Star

Claudia Gray

4.1 AVERAGE

This was far and away the best book in the trilogy. Brimming with action, intrigue and clever dialogue.

Also, plenty of simmering romantic tension between Avar and Elzar. I look forward to seeing how their Jedi romance unfolds in future books.

Lastly, it was good to see Affie, Leox and Geode in this book again. They were my favorite characters in Into to the Dark, which is Claudia Gray's YA Star Wars novel.

Once again Claudia Gray kills me with her Star Wars stories. This was SO GOOD!

Much like the Hyperspace Disaster, this doesn’t let up at all. The beginning is a little slow, but once the action gets going it  keeps you on the edge of your seat until the end. And what and ending!

I absolutely love Elzar Mann. He’s my favourite character. Reminds me a lot of Anakin, and I believes he serves as a great contrast and window as to what could’ve happened if Ani hadn’t given into the dark side.

Some characters I like less, like Geode for whom I don’t care about at all, and Nan who I just find boring.

Definitely one of the best THR books so far!

I am going to mark this at 4 stars for the time being at least. I feel it's reaching the 4.5 level in some aspects but not entirely. Though I will give Claudia Gray some massive props, this novel did take my off guard with the level of carnage and loss that permeates the entire story AND it manages to do all of this within a relatively small setting. We've went from Light of the Jedi which is a galaxy spanning epic with a massive cast of characters. To a smaller , more intimate - in some ways - story here, contained to one specific area for the majority of the story.

As it has continued to do, the High Republic series has again brought more hype to my feelings about the eventual Phase 2 Wave 1 novels that will arrive, as well as the Young Adult novel set to release in a few weeks.

I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. My heart was seriously beating so fast! I didn’t know what was going to happen next!
