I like the relationship between Rick and Carl as one one they feel secure and balanced in their relationship. But with Katie, them as trio idk I don't see it. From the start she only gave Rick a chance, and of course with his happy-go-lucky, funny, tattoos and Piercings she was swept away immediately. She spend more time with him from the start building a wall between her and Carl. Now Rick seems like a nice guy open with his feelings having no problem expressing them. He made his feelings for her obvious from the go to. Practically jumped on her and she opened her arms wide. Carl, now Carl I must say I feel in love with him immediately but that's beside the point rn, he is direct with what he wants but a little closed up abt his feelings—which is totally OK but Katie never really gives him the chance to express his feelings. I stopped bcs while the smut is good the building of their relationship is not giving. At this point from the writing, Katie feels like a splinter in their relationship which is dislike in books which involve polyamorous relationship.
