This was a deliciously filthy book with a wonderful plot and a super sweet love story. It was a little predictable, but I loved the characters and the writing style. I devoured this book. The one thing that I did laugh about; this might win the award for most tropes in a single book.

Short Review:
“Sugar Daddies” is a surprisingly wholesome and lovable story, despite its suggestive title and cover. The book features frequent explicit scenes that are well-integrated into the story, reflecting the characters’ growing affection for each other. The plot is captivating, though it focuses more on two of the three main characters, with Rick being somewhat sidelined. I appreciate romance novels with over 200 pages, as they allow for deeper character development, but the last third of this book felt rushed. Despite this, I loved the main characters and their dynamics, and I wish the ending had given more insight into their future together. Overall, despite some disappointment with the ending, this book is a high recommendation for me.

Long Review:
“Sugar Daddies” is a much more lovable and, I’d even dare to say, wholesome story than the cover and the title suggests. There are explicit spicy scenes, which aren’t stalled until the end of the book but start right away. Every 2-5 chapters, they are having sex, and I loved reading about it. I honestly sometimes get bored with slow-burn romances that only get heated at about 60% of the book, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that the spice is woven through the story as a whole. But again, it’s not mindless sex for the sake of it; it fits into the story arc well and reflects how the characters grow more and more fond of each other, looking out for each other, making sure everyone is involved and everyone is having fun.

The story arc itself was also very captivating, though it strangely focuses on only two of the three main characters. The spotlight is definitely on Katie, who kicks off the whole thing by needing money to pursue her dreams and thus gives the concept of sugar daddies a try, but Carl’s backstory and their interactions also get a lot of screen time. Whereas Rick, who seemingly always gets the women’s love first, is pushed off to the side most of the time. Don’t get me wrong, the poly dynamic in their relationship is done really well, with topics being discussed like who can have sex with whom and when, without accidentally leaving someone else hanging. And fears like one partner leaving for the new partner come up too. I believed how they all fell in love with each other, how it wasn’t only about the sex; that was done pretty well. But looking back, in the main plotline, Rick was more of a side character, which is a bit sad.

I do love reading romance novels which have more than 200 pages, because I love it when authors take the time to let us get to know the characters, not only in a few important scenes, but over time. It makes it feel more real, at least it does to me. And so did this book, right up until the last third of it when suddenly, everything felt very rushed. It was clear from when a certain secret was revealed that something needed to happen for the story to take its course. But I had hoped for a less sensational and forced change to get the story where it needed to be for a happy ending. I had hoped that again, just like at the beginning of the book, more time would be taken to get everyone where they needed to be. The way it was handled in the end just did not do the rest of the story justice, in my opinion. And I’d also have loved to have seen more of them being happy together as a family in the end and not cut us off like that. But that’s a me-thing, a problem I have with many books in this genre xD

Final Verdict:
Even though I was kinda disappointed with the ending, I loved this story! I loved the three main characters: Horse girl Katie, who can also kick ass in a business setting; businessman Carl, who is a very direct but also very loving partner; and the hippie designer Richard, who is the glue that keeps everyone together. I loved reading about them getting to know each other better, trusting each other, and finding out where the road leads them together. This is why I was so sad that everything felt so rushed in the end and that we didn’t get to hear more about how their story turned out. I’d love to read a part two! This part, however, still gets a high rating from me and will be one of my go-to recommendations in the future ;)

not great

For a book that was supposed to be so smutty…I’ve read books with so much more.

They say they love her really early, but they won’t sleep with her separately. They sleep with each other separately (without her being there or asking her permission), but don’t want to go behind each other’s back with her. That’s not love for her. That’s love for each other, with her on the side.

I did like the side story with her dad and sister. I would have liked to see the stepmom get put her place. I would feel bad her, husband had an affair, but she was witch to a little girl. Not ok.

i honestly thought this was going to be pure smut and kind of a blah storyline. But the storyline, the characters and their development and the spice. It’s a perfect mix

I listened to this on audible as everyone raved about it
And I feel I didn’t get the hype!
I don’t know if it was the narrators voices or just that it didn’t grip me as people made out it would.

It just didn’t do it for me.. but I’m glad the horse didn’t die.

The start of the book was really good. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1. But it was all downhill about half way, the characters don't match their description at all. Basically, it seemed like the author looked up some bad porn and wrote the scenes in the book....
