S.J. Tilly is confirming herself as one of my favorite romance authors. This book was hot, intense, and exciting, but it also had some moments of vulnerability especially for Vincent. Vincent, who is a bit of an alphahole, protective and stubborn but not stifling, and he’s also a father! His relationship with Annie, his daughter, made me appreciate Vincent even more because she’s where his heart is.

Having read and adored Tilly’s Sleet series, I knew I was going to fall for the couple, though it didn’t happen from the very beginning like I had expected. What happened in Vegas was hot, but brief. I didn’t feel the Tilly spark until Sasha and Vincent meet again after the events of Vegas. The key was their interactions, which is where the author is strong. The characters feed off each other. They banter and build sizzling chemistry. It’s so subtle that I don’t think I would have noticed had I not read the author’s other series and known the magic she’s able to create with a similar one-night stand scenario. My babieeeees!)

I highly recommend this to romance lovers, especially if you like billionaire/mafia romances (the Mazzanti are a former mobster family), with a love interest who is protective and domineering without being toxic, and a romance that leans a little on the darker side without going too dark.

Thank you to the author for gifting me a copy. Opinions are my own!

Rating: 3.5 stars / Spice: 3/5 peppers

MR. SIN is the perfect read if you want something a little darker than a romcom, but not as dark as a full mafia romance. In typical Tilly fashion, it does not sacrifice humor, even though it does have some darker romance elements—chief among them, a reformed alphahole of a love interest.

I definitely enjoyed this read! It was fast, it was hot, and the single dad twist added an unexpected layer to Vincent's character I was not expecting! Is there anything hotter than a smexy, tough guy being sweet and soft for his child? Probably not! And the family scenes were probably my favorite part of the story.

Oddly enough, the romance is what didn't fully convince me. Vincent and Sasha's scenes were HOT, but not everything about their falling in love clicked. I would have liked more intimate, important conversations and moments to lead up to their growing feelings. I also felt like there was a big difference in the "strength" of these characters. Vincent has a very strong, domineering personality (which is great for a MMC in this genre) but Sasha hardly poses any resistance to his desires, while she had a lot to lose if word got out of their relationship! It ultimately felt like she was too willing to let Vincent make decisions for her and micromanage her life...and I wasn't a big fan of that.

Despite this, I still enjoyed the book and am definitely going to continue the series!

This was a super fun read! I love a good billionaire/sorta mob romance. It's not too dark, but it does have some dark themes.

OMG Vincent and Sasha were amazing!!! SJ’s writing always makes me laugh and feel better. It’s like a comfort read with every story you pick up!

Listened on Audible.

I have so much love for S.J. Tilly with being a born and raised Minnesotan myself. Mr Sin was another great read of hers set in Minneapolis. Vincent is strong and possessive MMC, and Sasha is a successful and take no shit FMC. I loved their dynamic and growth through the book. I am excited to read the rest of the series. Again can never go wrong with a S. J. Tilly!

Another win for S.J. Tilly

I have yet to read a book by this author that disappoints. Mr. Sin is sexy, the characters come to life and the plot is great.
