This book is great for a YA novel. The writing was a little on the nose and at times cheesy. However, if I read this at 16 I would have felt seen and for that this book is amazing. I love the OCD and anxiety representation and often this is not done well.

I cried!  I loved being inside Aza’s head although it made my heart hurt for this fictional character sometimes.  It was interesting to experience someone else’s… experience, I guess, with OCD that is more debilitating than mine, because I was able to relate in some ways and not others.  I thought the friendships were very real and well-written.  Overall a good book.

When we find out what Daisy writes about Aza as “Ayalah” (not sure of spelling, I listened to the audiobook), it kinda pissed me off! That’s not a healthy friendship! I’m glad they made up but venting about how awful your best friend is in fanfiction (published, specifically) isn’t okay.

The whole thing is a spoiler, sorry.

I enjoyed the representation of anxiety in this book a lot. I truly believe that this book might have helped so many people struggling to come to terms with their anxiety. However, it is a very character-driven book, which is not typically what I like to read. I was trying to get into the mystery aspect, but then it felt like that was scrapped halfway through. No judgement to people who love this book; it just wasn’t my thing.
