So excited to start the series again. I'm mad at John I blame him for the last 75 ish % of the book. Good book! Good audio book.

POV: John/Four

I enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would. I had heard it wasn't very good so I put it off then I saw previews for the movie. I was all excited and wanted to read the book before I went to see it. Now I am a little sad I didn't start it sooner. While it's not the deepest or most meaningful book I've ever come across it was a fun read. I liked learning about the different races and their abilities. I also could have done with a little more character development. I felt like John's (#4) friends took the whole alien thing a little too well despite having seen him do amazing things. Overall a good fun read. I would definitely give to reluctant readers.

I didn't read it eventually, but watched the film instead.

This is a young adult book. If you are an old adult or don't go in for stories about aliens with super powers and large drooling beasts, it's not for you.

I have a feeling I will like the movie better. The actor playing Number Four also played Alex Rider in Stormbreaker so I kept comparing this book to that one. It's not as thrilling and heart-pounding. It's fine and I'll pick up the next book but I'm not holding my breath.
