I don't understand what I just read because this was not worth five hours of my time. A novella, at most, would've sufficed to finish the story because apart from romps 24/7, there was barely any plot or character development. There was really no need to extend the plot into an entirely new book when it could've been finished with book one.
No flow, no chemistry, no plot. A couple of smut scenes in every chapter and the MMC begging for forgiveness for his past every other chapter doesn't make a book.
I found the first book (The Mister) to be less than mediocre, and the second book (The Missus) to be sorely lacking and not worth reading.
E.L.James is clearly trying to hold onto whatever fame the Fifty Shades Trilogy had brought on and no matter how much I tried to like Maxim and Alessia as characters, this was a serious waste of time and energy.

It took 4 years to come up with this sequel, which is astounding because it’s a big pile of nothing. Nothing happens. The characters have sex over and over but even that is written in such a boring way.

This book was great. The only criticism was that the going back and forth between characters was distracting without warning. I was able to keep up, but it was distracting.
SO boring. I had to push myself through this book.
