Charming, warm, and sometimes *hot*. Lovely found family in Charlie’s friend group and even with fiancée Alma. More wholesome than initial setup with erotica author and stanning collector might seem. Recommended!

3 stars. Nothing very deep, but engaging central characters, I ended up caring for them. Secondary characters were by and large okay. Solid debut effort.

Without giving anything away, I found how Charlie and Miles got out of their particular predicament a bit too easy, but that doesn't put me off the story. Some anachronisms and a few carelessly edited bits, but apparently we will see the characters again, and I will probably go further with the series.

A sad attempt. I will preface by saying I had just read 8 books over 8 days, and was ready for something disappointing that I just shot my shot with an erotica by an unknown eBook author to cozy on into that sweet sweet criticism.
No tension, romantic or otherwise, nothing erotic about it, I felt most charmed by the publisher character and only because I cast him as Matt Berry in my head. This is ostensibly erotica, but with so little descriptive text that I was nearly asleep by the time "prick" and "hard" made their appearances. This book had an entire scene about cake and wine tasting and the opportunity for build-up was completely ignored.
My strongest complaint is regarding one of those incredibly annoying historical fiction things where everything that happens in present times, and also happened in a slightly different but surprisingly similar way back in the olden days is described in great detail to ensure that the reader knows "this is an anxiety attack/writer's block/drag queen/etc." These features are spelled out far too much, in a way that completely removes the reader from the historical context. I beg to be allowed to read between the lines - this is historical fiction gay erotica, for pete's sake.
