I loved this story, I can’t believe its rating is so low.
The very last page confused me and I still feel confused BUT the story had me hooked. So many twists and turns and I loved it.
Really good read.

This book was a struggle... Really had to make myself finish it! I'd had really high hopes after reading another of Adele Parks books, but this one was not for me.
I didn't take to the characters, the storyline seemed forced, it switched from long drawn out details to quick straight to the point actions.. Glad it's over with!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and was engrossed from the first chapter! I couldn’t put the book down! I do enjoy reading Adele Parks and find her books engaging and unputdownable!

This story is interpreted through the views of the two main characters and gives you a detailed insight into their characters and what they are going though. It tackles subjects such as alcoholism, abuse, social groups and fertility. The story was fast paced yet descriptive. It gave you full knowledge and understanding of each character.

The plot covered lots of twists and turns and was left with my eyes on stalks a couple of times!! The big one at the end of the story was the biggest surprise of all!!

I fully recommend this book!

Some satisfying twists at the end & interesting characters

It was okay. I don’t buy the whole parentage thing at the end of the book. And all the characters seemed to make the dumbest decisions.

First off

SO . MANY . TRIGGER . WARNINGS .

This book is not for the faint of heart! Issues such as alcholism, rape, murder , domestic violence, animal abuse (I actually can’t even with this RIDICULOUS and unneccesary scene), prison life (just to name a few!) all thrown in here, rather sloppily in my opinion.

The characters - all absolutely awful people. Honestly not a shred of care for any of them. All their relationships and connections are weirdly toxic and intertwined in a way that didn’t make sense.

The Plot - way too far fetched, completely chaotic and just I don’t even know .... I know it’s a book about ‘Lies’ but it’s just a little too much. Everything is just complete chaos and not even slightly believable or relatable.

I haven’t read Adele Parks before, and sadly I don’t think I’ll be rushing back for more honestly.
Can’t really recommend this book in good faith. Sorry

okay actually review time

Trigger warning: mention of rape twice towards the end of the book. Child abuse, and a child getting hurt twice as well.

So I actually got this book for free because of a coupon, and honestly best free book I've ever gotten!
I have been in a reading slump for the third time this year and thankfully this quick little read got me out of it fast. Simon does much more than just drink when he stressed and Daisy as many more lies than she will let anybody know. Both people should not be married to each other, even if they've finally had their perfect little girl, Millie.

I felt some of the twist coming but him taking the blame for almost murdering their daughter or Daisy taking a used condom to get herself pregnant was insane, i didn't see any of those coming. I will be checking out more of her novels for sure because this one got me.
